After breakfast, we depart Fez towards the Middle Atlas Mountains, where the semi-nomadic Berbers live. We then pass through Ifrane, known as Moroccan Switzerland, and the cedar forests, where we see monkeys and give them food. Leaving the Middle Atlas, we enter the High Atlas Mountains, heading towards Errachidia, passing through the Ziz Gorges and Valley. We arrived in Erfoud in the afternoon and then in Merzouga, where we spent the night.
DAY 2: MERZOUGA - ERG-CHEBBI - MERZOUGA
After breakfast, we visit the two oases of Merzouga, the desert plateaus, the Berber nomadic camps and the Tissadmine oasis, where the nomadic lands are located. Then we arrived at the village of Khamlia, where black Malians live. We had lunch there, enjoying some drums and castanets, and then returned to the hotel to rest. In the afternoon, we ride a camel to reach the tents across the golden sand, where we spend the night and have a typical Berber dinner with music.
DAY 3: MERZOUGA - DADES GORGE - DADES VALLEY - OUARZAZATE
After admiring the sunrise, we rode back to the hotel on camels for a shower and breakfast. We leave for Rissani, which dates back to the Alaouite dynasty, where we visit its famous market (souk) and donkey parking. Afterwards, we continue our way to Erfoud to visit the 350 million year old fossils. We continued until we reached the Todra gorges, and then the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou and Ourzazate, where we spent the night as a family, with the option of taking a Berber cooking class.
